Sortcery

Sortcery is a script for Adobe After Effects that enhances layer sorting. Organize and your timeline with multiple sorting options like by name, position, by selection order, color label, and more.

It's still a beta. Feel free to get in touch with feedback and suggestions for features in future versions.

Functions:

1. Sort by Name
Sort layers alphabetically.

2. Random Sorting
Rearrange layers randomly.

3. Sort by Selection Order
Arrange layers based on selection order.

4. Sort by Color Label
Organize layers by color labels.

5. Sort by Layer Type
Group layers by type (e.g., solids, shape layers and text objects).

6. Horizontal Position Sorting
Sort layers left to right or right to left.

7. Vertical Position Sorting
Sort layers top to bottom or bottom to top.

8. Depth (Z-Axis) Sorting
Sort layers by Z position, closest to furthest or vice versa.

9. Time-based Sorting
Sort layers by in-point, earliest to latest or vice versa.

10. Reverse Order
Reverse the current order of layers.

11. Tidy Up Function
Tidy up the timeline with dividers and labels based on criteria like color label, layer type or manual selection.
